Discover Navaruchi Kerala Restaurant East Ham

If you're in the mood for a genuine taste of Kerala cuisine in East Ham, then Navaruchi Kerala Restaurant East Ham is the place to be. Situated at 200-202 High St N, London E6 2JA, United Kingdom, this cozy restaurant brings the rich, flavorful dishes of Kerala to the heart of London. Known for its warm atmosphere and exceptional food, it’s a haven for anyone who loves authentic Indian dishes, particularly those from the coastal region of Kerala.

One of the first things that stands out about Navaruchi is its menu. The variety of dishes caters to all tastes, offering everything from traditional Kerala delicacies to popular Indian staples. The flavors are bold, with a perfect balance of spices that is typical of the southern Indian state. Whether you're a fan of vegetarian dishes, seafood, or meat options, there's something for everyone. The restaurant's focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients ensures that every meal is of the highest quality.

A standout dish here is the Kerala Sadya, a traditional feast served on a banana leaf, offering a wide range of flavors in one meal. The sadya includes a selection of rice, curries, pickles, and a dessert, each item carefully prepared to reflect the vibrant tastes of Kerala. For seafood lovers, the Kerala fish curry is a must-try, made with fresh fish and a blend of spices that transport you straight to the shores of Kerala.

Not to be missed is their signature Kerala parotta, a flaky, layered flatbread that pairs beautifully with any curry. It’s a staple of Kerala cuisine and is done perfectly here at Navaruchi. If you’re looking for something lighter, their selection of dosa - thin, crispy pancakes made from fermented rice batter - is a great choice, especially when paired with chutneys and sambar.

In terms of ambiance, Navaruchi Kerala Restaurant East Ham exudes a cozy, welcoming feel. The interior is simple yet warm, with traditional Kerala artwork adorning the walls, giving it an authentic and homely vibe. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring that every customer feels comfortable and well taken care of. Whether you're dining with family or enjoying a meal with friends, you can expect a relaxed dining experience.

The restaurant also offers a variety of beverages to complement your meal. From traditional Indian chai to fresh fruit juices, the drink menu is just as carefully curated as the food menu. A chilled glass of lime soda or a sweet lassi pairs perfectly with the spicy flavors of Kerala cuisine, helping to balance the heat of the curries.

Navaruchi's reputation for quality is evident in the glowing reviews it consistently receives. Regulars often rave about the authenticity of the dishes and the consistency of the flavors. The restaurant’s attention to detail and commitment to offering an authentic Kerala dining experience is something that sets it apart from other Indian eateries in the area. For anyone craving an authentic taste of southern India, Navaruchi Kerala Restaurant East Ham is an excellent choice. The combination of flavorful dishes, a welcoming atmosphere, and attentive service makes it a standout in East Ham’s diverse food scene.

  • Delicious food with a great variety on the menu. We ordered chicken roast, beef roast, porotta, and some Kerala snacks — everything tasted authentic and satisfying. Service was good overall, though a couple of staff members could be more attentive. We took the tube to reach, which was much easier than driving. One of the best South Indian restaurants in East Ham! The seating is a bit cramped, but it allows them to accommodate more customers. Definitely worth visiting

  • Authentic and tasty Kerala breakfast overall. Four of us visited in the morning and tried - Puttu & Beef Curry, - Porotta & Beef Curry, - Appam & Beef Stew —all filling, flavourful, and reasonably priced. For a quick bite, I’d also recommend the Egg Puff with sugary Bru coffee. That said, the floor cleanliness and service could be improved to make the experience even better.

  • Family of 4 visited Navaruchi after the raving reviews by the kerala community. The staff were pleasant and had advised us we could walk in on the night. A good indication of the value for money and quality of food at a place is the presence of young students. Navaruchi had a lot of students in the restaurant. A very simple menu with all the kerala favourites. Pleasant surprised to see "Then nellikka" in the appetiser section. While being a simple delicacy in hilly areas, this is rarely found in restaurants. A few "chaya palaharangal" tea time snacks were available. I tried a couple and found them to be delicious. We ordered our usual fresh lime juice. Nothing special, but that's how it should be. Upon asking for the staff recommendation, the suggested the fish nirvana with Appam. The appams were large , fresh and good quality. The combination with the fish nirvana was at another level ! I am planning to try this at home. We also tried a simple chicken curry and a piri piri mandi . The mandi rice was flavoursome and reminded me of being back in the "Gulf". For the kerala community - the questions to answer " is it worth the money and trip? Does it taste like home? -- Absolutely!!" For the rest of indian community : " will I find something authentic I like? -- Yes For the non Indian population: "what's unique about this place given there are plenty of Indian restaurants all over London? " -- the place is authentic and serves food commonly found in a typical kerala roadside restaurant from home and the tastes just as it does in kerala. No westernised or adapted recipes here. Will I come back? Definitely

  • We visited Navaruchi in East Ham and ordered the Nasrani Sadya. It felt like eating at home after a long time away. Every dish reminded us of the food we grew up with. The flavours were genuine and comforting, and we both felt an unexpected rush of happiness. It is rare to find a place in the UK that serves Kerala food with this level of authenticity. If you are missing home, this is a restaurant that can fill both your stomach and your heart. A must-visit for anyone who wants real Kerala taste.
